Young Producer’s Apprentice Programme
Following the success of the Trainee Assistant Director Programme (now the Young Director’s Apprentice Programme) the King’s Head Theatre is launching a new programme for young producers.
In 2002 the Directing Programme won the Queen’s Jubilee Award in recognition of its unique value, for contribution to the arts and the pursuit of excellence presented, by HM Queen Elizabeth II, Lord Attenborough and Richard Eyre.
Many graduates of the Directing Programme have gone on to successful careers in producing which has encouraged us to expand the programme to provide opportunities for young producers.
Two emerging producers will be accepted each year for a six-month placement. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work closely with Tony Award winning producer, now Producing Director of the King’s Head Theatre, Steven Levy, as well as the Artistic Director and General Manager.
In addition to gaining a wider understanding of the operational and management aspects of a venue, producers will have the opportunity to produce 3 week-long lunchtime productions, directed by graduates from the Young Director’s Apprentice Programme.
This is an unpaid, training position and whilst it is expected that candidates need to undertake other work in the six-month period, a serious commitment and focus to the theatre will be required.
To apply please email a covering letter stating your interest and a C.V. to Sherrill@kingsheadtheatre.org
